This summer I ordered some die cut Beistle Halloween decorations from Amazon and have been pondering how I was going to incorporate them into my haunted house this fall.
I want to tell you the story about my favorite blow mold, which is named Jack. I’m not sure if my father coined the name Jack or if it was me – but somehow this blow mold ended up being called Jack!
Now Jack was not always my favorite blow mold…in fact, my family had this Halloween decoration for as long as I can remember and at the very beginning I HATED Jack.

The Dollar Tree is full of spooktacular ideas and craft supplies around this time of year. I confess, I try to stop in once a week or once every couple weeks to see what is new in stores for Halloween around this time of year.
Last week, my local Dollar Tree had began to sell Halloween craft supplies and my first Dollar Tree Halloween haul contained everything I needed and more to create a new spooky Halloween wreath that I can haunt my halls with (I’ll be making another trip back there soon to make a second wreath for my Halloween-loving mom as well!)
I’ve seen some large fabric pop-up coffin decorations the past few years and I wanted to try to recreate my own. The price tag on many of them usually cost $30 or more and I only spent $3 on mine! I will confess – I am a bit of an impatient crafter (this is something I’m working on), therefore my lines are never straight and I tend to eyeball things too often, but the imperfections make it unique, right? Here’s how I made my DIY Coffin prop from foam board from the Dollar Tree if you’d like to make one of your own:
My favorite pair of leopard flats have seen better days. This prompted me on a search for a replacement pair and I was not disappointed in my upgrade! Leopard flats are an absolute must as a closet staple. They are a fun print that can mix well and match with many different outfits. I ended up paying $15.99 for my pair from Amazon.com! I am always a bit wary of ordering shoes from Amazon, but these “Dream Pairs” were true to size, comfortable and the seller had a TON of different colors and patterns to select (I’ll keep that in mind for the future!). It also is a bonus that they’re Prime eligible.
This Friday I went to an estate sale that had a surprisingly good assortment of Halloween goodies. I ended up going home with a Better Homes and Gardens Halloween Idea book that was published in 2000 for a few bucks and these delightfully “vintage” (I don’t know if 1986 is technically considered vintage yet…) McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal pails.

I feel like I scored an incredible find this past weekend at River City Trading Post, my local antique mall. My husband walked into booth and shouted “Hey, Callie…you need this!” and that is why I married him – he knows me so well! I did need this cute little table top blow mold.

I search the Facebook marketplace from time to time looking for vintage Halloween accents and decor (specifically blow molds) and stumbled across a “lot” of Halloween loot. The original post said $20, but I offered $15 (I’m always looking for the best deal) and the seller graciously accepted my offer.
Haunt the halls with ghouls and goblins, eek, eek, eek, eek, eek, eek, eek, eek, eek! (That’s how the song should go, right?)
Today’s post are some photos of how I decorated the inside of my house. I’ve been slowly gathering even more haunting knick-knacks for this year’s decorating. I hope some of my display will inspire your decorating as well! Now that 4th of July has passed, I’m so ready to begin putting out the creepies! I probably won’t start until the first weekend of September. That’s not too early…
