Best of Halloween Head!

Valloween has come and passed, and Halloween seems so far away. But fear not spooky friends, because this time in-between seasons has me feeling nostalgic and looking back on my past blog posts.

I figured now would be a great time to revisit some of my favorite posts, recipes and DIYs to keep the spirit of Halloween alive during this chilly and bleak transition into spring.

DIY Vintage Halloween Cat Pail

DIY vintage cat pail

If you get tired of too many orange plastic pumpkin pails in your house or attic – don’t throw them out! Instead, breathe new life into them and make them into a creepy cat (one that is vintage inspired at that!). This idea didn’t just come to me – I actually stumbled on the idea years ago on Pinterest and have been meaning to give it a try myself.  I had to buy a pumpkin pail (believe it or not, I did not have an extra one laying around!) to create my cat pail. I’ve learned my lesson from that – respect your pumpkin pails, and in return they’ll respect you and your creativity.

I ended up going home with a Better Homes and Gardens Halloween Idea book that was published in 2000 for a few bucks and these delightfully “vintage” (I don’t know if 1986 is technically considered vintage yet…) McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal pails.

1972 Vintage Bayshore Industries Halloween Blow Mold

I feel like I scored an incredible find this past weekend at River City Trading Post, my local antique mall. My husband walked into booth and shouted “Hey, Callie…you need this!” and that is why I married him – he knows me so well! I did need this cute little table top blow mold.
