The “Spooky One” First Birthday Decorations

My youngest turned one on September 8! It may be 53 days away from Halloween, but that didn’t stop us from creating a spooky one birthday!

I created my own banner and cake topper and did a little backyard “pumpkin pie” smash photo shoot as well. I hope these early memories will inspire my baby bat to love Halloween like his momma.

Keep reading to see how I made my own decorations.

My Haunted House: 2019 Edition

Come take a tour of my haunted abode this season! I always love to share photos of how I spooked my halls for the season to inspire you and your decorating. I have a fairly small house and not enough room sometimes to both store and display my ghoulish goodies but I try to do the best with the space I have.

My favorite addition this year is my Old Time Pottery Halloween Tree! I have always wanted to make a Halloween tree and they teamed up with me this year to make my Halloween decorating dream a reality. I could not have been more proud or excited about working with them and how it turned out.

Halloween Shopping at Tuesday Morning

The hunt for Halloween this summer continues – and as you might have noticed, your neighborhood Tuesday Morning store is just now filling its shelves with spooky delights! I love how each store that is providing Halloween fans with Halloween shopping in July all have their own “theme” or “aesthetic.”

The theme so far at Tuesday Morning is flashy, fanciful and fun! Plus, they have lots of little miniatures that would make any Halloween village display a frightful destination.

Keep on scrolling to see what I found in stock at my local Tuesday Morning last weekend!

Halloween Shopping at Old Time Pottery

One of my favorite stores to shop for Halloween at is Old Time Pottery!!! Unfortunately, this retailer is only found in 11 states and mostly in the mid-west region of the U.S. If you have one near you – now’s the time to check them out. What I love most about OTP, is their vast selection of home decor at incredibly affordable prices. That helps to make shopping for Halloween guilt-free!

The icing on top, is that they begin stocking the shelves with spook as soon as the Fourth of July is over! Retailers that cater to Halloween lovers in the summer months are the best kind of stores! Keep on scrolling if you’d like to virtually shop the shelves of my Tulsa, OK location.

My Haunted House: 2018 Edition

September truly is Halloween eve for me. I pulled out all of my decor as soon as September 1st rolled around, despite temperatures feeling like anything but fall. It made my heart happy going through all of my Halloween treasures, trinkets, new finds and creations and placing them throughout the house. I always turn on a Halloween flick while I rummage through my boxes and this year I turned on “Monster Squad” (definitely a classic!).  I was a bit frustrated by the end of my decorating spree since I was running out of space to put things (I guess I need a larger house just for all of my Halloween loot!) – does anyone else have more decor than they do space? I think it’s only a problem that us Halloween addicts must face. I hope you enjoy these snapshots of how I decorated the house this year!

Haunt the Halls: A Bewitching Entry

bewitching entry 1 edit with social

I couldn’t help myself – I went ahead and added some bewitching touches to the entryway of my house. I wanted to share what it looks like if you’re looking for some decorating inspirations for your little entry as well.

Earlier this week I picked up a witch broom at the Dollar Tree. I was not sure what I would use it for initially when I bought it, but today I found the perfect use for them – I placed them in a little fall arrangement in the large vases I have on the floor next to my front door.

Framed Halloween Die Cuts

I absolutely love vintage Beistle Halloween decor and artwork and I love that you can order reproductions too!

This summer I ordered some die cut Beistle Halloween decorations from Amazon and have been pondering how I was going to incorporate them into my haunted house this fall.
