Halloween Monster Shirt Activity for Kids

I am already working on getting my kids into the Halloween spirit by creating spooky activities they can join in on!

Our latest adventure is creating our very home handmade finger painted monster shirts. This is a great activity for toddlers or older kids as well. I had to add some final touches to each monster tee, but older kids could have a blast adding their own monster face, however my 1-year-old and 2-year-old are not quite ready to paint with such detail.

I love this activity too, because now my boys have a little keepsake from their toddler years that we could dress a stuffed animal in or make small pillow from once they grow out of it. It’s kinda like a never ended craft in that regard…

This is a rather inexpensive craft if you already have the supplies, you’ll just need to pick up some new shirts to paint on! Keep reading for more monster shirt activity inspiration:

The “Spooky One” First Birthday Decorations

My youngest turned one on September 8! It may be 53 days away from Halloween, but that didn’t stop us from creating a spooky one birthday!

I created my own banner and cake topper and did a little backyard “pumpkin pie” smash photo shoot as well. I hope these early memories will inspire my baby bat to love Halloween like his momma.

Keep reading to see how I made my own decorations.

Spooky Good Style: Halloween Outfits!

My love for Halloween and clothes both have something scary in common. I’m obsessed with both! I have noticed that my Halloween shirt collection is starting to get a bit out of control, but it is OK to wear these tops year-round, am I right?!

I have so much fun putting together different Halloween theme styles and looks (I blame my Assistant Manager days back at Maurice’s when I clothed mannequins each week) so I wanted to share some of my looks with you!

Perhaps you’re looking for something to wear to work or to the office this Halloween that isn’t necessarily a full on costume. These looks are perfect for that occasion and every day this month!

Creepy Baby Doll Head Candelabra

I have finally got to moving on my first Halloween craft project of the season! I wanted to do this last year but time escaped me and I couldn’t quite find exactly what I wanted at the time.

If you’re into the creepy baby doll theme, this DIY/craft inspiration is for you! I have been captivated by the creepy doll theme and wanted to take it to a whole new level by attaching doll heads to a candelabra to create a decorative art piece to haunt my home.

A trip to the 2019 Texas Haunters Convention

This weekend has been SPOOKTACULAR. I made it out to the inaugural Texas Haunters Convention in Mesquite, TX.  I do not have much history related to convention attendance, so I’m never quite sure what to expect when I arrive at these events. It’s good to go into something with a sense of wonder instead of expecting too much or too little.

The convention is a cash and carry style two day Halloween convention geared towards haunt owners, industry professionals, home haunters, families, trick-or-treaters, and Halloween lovers (I fall into the latter category)! The event is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket.  There are also live demos, classes and make-and-takes sessions that are available to attendees for an additional fee.

I had so much fun seeing all of the AMAZING and talented crafters, creators, and haunters at this event.  The event had over 70 booths consisting of vendors, haunters, guests, and more.

What made this event even more enjoyable was spending it with my Halloween friends! I FINALLY got to meet my inspiration behind starting my very own blog, the queen of Halloween herself, and in my opinion a total internet Halloween celeb – Miranda, the ghoul behind Spooky Little Halloween!

Halloween Shopping at Old Time Pottery

One of my favorite stores to shop for Halloween at is Old Time Pottery!!! Unfortunately, this retailer is only found in 11 states and mostly in the mid-west region of the U.S. If you have one near you – now’s the time to check them out. What I love most about OTP, is their vast selection of home decor at incredibly affordable prices. That helps to make shopping for Halloween guilt-free!

The icing on top, is that they begin stocking the shelves with spook as soon as the Fourth of July is over! Retailers that cater to Halloween lovers in the summer months are the best kind of stores! Keep on scrolling if you’d like to virtually shop the shelves of my Tulsa, OK location.

Best of Halloween Head!

Valloween has come and passed, and Halloween seems so far away. But fear not spooky friends, because this time in-between seasons has me feeling nostalgic and looking back on my past blog posts.

I figured now would be a great time to revisit some of my favorite posts, recipes and DIYs to keep the spirit of Halloween alive during this chilly and bleak transition into spring.

Take a look back at my favorite posts with me…

How I celebrate Halloween all year long!

The candy has been passed out, the pumpkins have been carved, the decorations are coming down and our frightfully fun costume creations limply hang lifeless in the closet – this is enough to spark all of the sad feelings that Halloween has certainly passed and we have to wait another year to revel in it’s delights once again.
