I have finally got to moving on my first Halloween craft project of the season! I wanted to do this last year but time escaped me and I couldn’t quite find exactly what I wanted at the time.
If you’re into the creepy baby doll theme, this DIY/craft inspiration is for you! I have been captivated by the creepy doll theme and wanted to take it to a whole new level by attaching doll heads to a candelabra to create a decorative art piece to haunt my home.

This weekend has been SPOOKTACULAR. I made it out to the inaugural Texas Haunters Convention in Mesquite, TX. I do not have much history related to convention attendance, so I’m never quite sure what to expect when I arrive at these events. It’s good to go into something with a sense of wonder instead of expecting too much or too little.
The convention is a cash and carry style two day Halloween convention geared towards haunt owners, industry professionals, home haunters, families, trick-or-treaters, and Halloween lovers (I fall into the latter category)! The event is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket. There are also live demos, classes and make-and-takes sessions that are available to attendees for an additional fee.
I had so much fun seeing all of the AMAZING and talented crafters, creators, and haunters at this event. The event had over 70 booths consisting of vendors, haunters, guests, and more.
What made this event even more enjoyable was spending it with my Halloween friends! I FINALLY got to meet my inspiration behind starting my very own blog, the queen of Halloween herself, and in my opinion a total internet Halloween celeb – Miranda, the ghoul behind Spooky Little Halloween!

I have always loved singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson – and there’s even more to love with the announcement of her Stranger Things inspired record coming out June 28!
She has released two singles so far from the record, “Missing You” and my personal favorite “Jealous“. Ingrid tweeted the following about her inspiration around the tune:

Greetings my spooky friends – it has been over a month since I last posted and I have no idea where all that time has gone. This year is flying by, but it isn’t a bad thing since that’ll bring Halloween season that much closer to us.
For today’s post, I wanted to share some of my favorite records with you that will keep you in an eerie spirit while we wait for summer to bring us Halloween once more. When I’m not obsessing over my favorite holiday, I am obsessing over music. I myself am a musician and songwriter with a strong passion for concerts, collecting vinyl, and immersing myself in music.
I was thinking the other day that I should share some of my favorite albums that I find especially spooky with you. Take a look at this list and share with me your favorite macabre records and together let’s sing these tunes loud to help us ring in Halloween 2019!

Well today, I turn 28 years old. I usually like to make a big deal out of other people’s birthdays and I try to apply the same passion to my own, but this year I am struggling to be as excited as I have been in the past. I am incredibly grateful for all of the many blessings I have, my family, my friends, the animals in my life, my incredibly kind and hardworking husband, my career – but there’s something that makes me sad as I age because I feel like I’m losing time each year I get older. And, I like having time to enjoy all these things I love in my life.
I think I need to stop chasing time and the way I treat it as a loss as I lunge further into my “late twenties.” For my birthday and the year ahead I’m going to work on enjoying these wonderful seconds I am alive on this earth to be as productive or unproductive as I want be. I am going to try to also think of the time I spend as something I am gaining (not losing). I am going to take more risks/try new things and stop fearing and start loving and letting things go that don’t matter. That is something I am happy to have embraced this past year. I still have lots of learning and personal growth ahead of me…and patience is my weakness which I need to grow a lot of. My lack of patience is very evident in the first ever homemade birthday cake I made…I was so focused on EATING the cake, that I haphazardly decorated and assembled before the cake was 100% cool – and you know I’ve seen way too many cooking shows to know better…

Valloween has come and passed, and Halloween seems so far away. But fear not spooky friends, because this time in-between seasons has me feeling nostalgic and looking back on my past blog posts.
I figured now would be a great time to revisit some of my favorite posts, recipes and DIYs to keep the spirit of Halloween alive during this chilly and bleak transition into spring.
Take a look back at my favorite posts with me…

And just like that it’s 2019! I am so excited for the highs and lows and adventure that awaits this year. Most importantly, I’m ready to countdown to another Halloween with you!
I started this blog only six months ago, and I have made such wonderful friends here. I wish everyone and their family a warm, happy and healthy 2019!
In true Halloween spirit, I wanted to do something festive to kick off a great year while staying true to my unusual nature. That meant, I needed to carve the first pumpkin of 2019 – a New Year’s gourd.
