2025 Halloween Tree

My black Halloween tree hasn’t seen the light of day for many many moons. This summer, my family and I moved to a new house and after recovering my beloved tree from the shed during the move, I made a promise to myself to resurrect the tradition. The resurrection of this delightful tree turned out to be the magic my home was missing! I invite you to read on to see photos of how I created this vintage inspired tree, including crafting an array of ornaments for this year’s tree.

I bought some plain wooden craft circle from Walmart that will only set you back about $2.50 for 6 of them. I painted the circles a variety of fall hues to go with the oranges, browns and greens to complement the faux leaves and flowers adorning my tree. This style “aesthetic” went so well in my green dining room where I displayed my tree.

Here where things may get a little controversial, since I am using these ornaments for personal use, I found the images on the Beistle website and printed them off on cardstock and cut them to size with my Cricut. (I do not support stealing art work and selling it for a profit or claiming it as your own).

There are tons of free resources and graphics sites such as the Noun Project and Canva that has free Halloween inspired graphics you can use if you want a similar tree. If you choose to make your own ornaments, just use your own best judgment, and I heard you not to sell anything that you did not create personally.

I found the beaded garland from the Dollar tree in the fall section, as well as burlap leaves and faux burlap daisies. I will note that the dollar tree has raised their prices on craft supplies and greenery, so those ran about $1.50 each.

I was debating on creating a ghost tree topper but instead went the easy route, and plopped my 1980s trick-or-treat pail on top (which conveniently had a hole in the bottom of the pail to slide on the top branch). I found that jolly little blow mold at an estate sale when I use to regularly hunt for Halloween treasures with parents before I became a full-time busy mom. 😝🥰

I hope you like how my tree turned out and that you get a spark of inspiration for your own interior Halloween decorating this season.

Stay spooky,

Callie Jo
