I love the folk legend of Krampus! I also love the 2015 Michael Dougherty film, “Krampus” which has become a Christmas tradition that my husband and I watch each year.
To honor my passion for the half-goat, half-demon who punishes naughty children (I mean, c’mon, does receiving coal really inspire a child to behave or does a goat demon do the trick? My vote is for the goat demon…) I ordered this vintage inspired Krampus shirt on Amazon!
Just this week, we will be recognizing Krapusnacht – the night that Krampus appears on the streets and punishes bad kiddos on December 5 (the night preceding the “Feast of St. Nicholas).
I’m ready for Krampus Night with this outfit – and I like to think I’m embracing my German roots by acknowledging this legend.
I enjoy reading up on this legend because it has been around so quite some time, and yet it seems that only within the past several years it had gained popularity and recognition in the US through pop culture, comics, movies and art.
